I got the idea for this strip from a real-life (but rather bizarre) plumbing product. Some people decided there's a market for a commode made of clear glass, with fish swimming around inside its walls. I don't get it.
The fish probably don't mind, in our world. I've heard gold fish are so simple-minded that every lap they swim around a plain bowl, it seems like a new bowl to them. They're content if they get to eat and not be eaten.
In Pizza-from-Scratch-world, Dr. Luther worked a deal with a school (Class gift, get it? Yeah, that's a pretty awful joke.) of anchovies. One of the latest things, according to computer science Professor Choi, is networks of sensors. The anchovies will be intelligent sensors, gathering ocean data.
