It's important to exercise in space.

|all the cats|
Astronauts have to do resistance training, to limit the amount of muscle and bone mass they lose during extended stays in space. I've seen how much fun real cats have, chasing laser pointer light dots. Hearing aid "batteries" (Yes, they're properly "dry cells.") are cheap and lightweight.
And yes, in near weightlessness, a group of cats, all diving at the same laser dot, would bounce off each other and go rolling and spinning away, in all directions.
And yes, that's Admiral Ackbar, from Star Wars, saying his signature line.
