Being a little housecat with human-sized textbooks, on a human-sized campus, Nell drives a tiny diesel/electric hybrid that can climb stairs (Some VCU elevators are SLOW.)
I've noticed that most sidewalk curb adaptations cut into the sidewalk, and in a rain fill up to where they could short out a battery wheelchair, or at least get the rider's feet wet. If they were shaped like the delta fan of a river, they would shed rain. and they wouldn't have to reach beyond the gutter. So they wouldn't be speed bumps for drivers. How about it, civil engineers?
I really did hear all those brain-hurting, even creepy expressions in class (and a few on radio shows by people who think they've thought of everything).
